Frank Brown Park is located in Panama City Beach just north of downtown and Pier Park. It’s just off of Highway 98 and Highway 79 is a popular location for locals and visitors alike.
This is a 200-acre outdoor recreational facility, which hosts various sporting events throughout the year. The facilities are available for public use year-round. Frank Brown Park often hosts Ironman competitions, the national Softball Association, the world softball league and the international five Football Association, which holds championship events at the Frank Brown facilities.
The park features nine softball fields, two T-ball fields, three soccer fields, for multipurpose football fields, for tennis courts, to outdoor basketball courts, to shuffleboard courts, one indoor gym, one playground, a large group Pavilion, a youth fishing pond, a 22 acre Festival site, a dog park, aquatic center and nearly 2 miles of pathways and trails.
Since 2002, Frank Brown Park is undergone over $10 million worth of expansions and renovations. This is when they put the aquatic center in, which features a large swimming pool, splash park and play area.
The aquatic center features water aerobics, space for birthday and private parties, swim teams and swim academies. There are classes throughout the year and different rates for members and the public.
The recreational facilities feature kids activities and sports clubs throughout the year as well.
The dog park features to fenced in off leash dog playgrounds perfect for either large dogs for smaller and slower ones.
The youth fishing pond is located at the northwest corner of the park behind the dog park. Children, 16 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult in the adult must have a Florida freshwater fishing license. There are daily limits which are posted at the pond. The kids fishing rodeo is April 29, 2017, and is a great event for your young fishermen.
Frank Brown Park also features 22 acres and a 10,000 person capacity for events. This is home to several annual concerts, festivals, horse shows, car shows and athletic events. The park has restrooms, horse arena, and a vendor area as well.
Whether you’re visiting Panama City Beach or if you plan on making this your permanent home, you’ll have to visit Frank Brown Park. It is one of the city’s hidden gems.
