The anticipation is coming; the urgency is nearing and you’re planning your romantic getaway to Panama City Beach Florida. First of all, if you have the time you’ll probably want to plan at the right time. You won’t want to be enjoying your quiet getaway with thousands of rowdy teenagers on spring break. Planning a romantic, quiet trip probably should not be considered mid-march through the end of April just to be safe, unless you enjoy getting a beer spilled on your on the dance floor. If you’re looking for quiet, you might steer clear during these few weeks out of the year.
When to Visit
But really any other time can be quite enjoyable. Of course you have families during the summer. At the beginning of summer and towards the end will be the most families, especially those with school age children. People are trying to beat the heat and visit while school is out but still not too hot. This can be anywhere from Mid May to the first week of September. If you’re looking for hotter days without too many families, July is probably your best bet, but remember, we get hot. It’s topping out at mid 90s some days and unless you love it, that may not be the best time.
Now families with younger children that may not be in school can visit anytime of the year but usually not during spring break so you’ll always find a few families with kiddos running up and down the beaches and this actually adds a little charm and hominess to the area. So I would suggest for a real romantic time, consider November, December, January and February. It’s nice and cool… if you like 70 as nice and cool temp. You can still enjoy the beach but it won’t be blistering hot. June is a beautiful time to visit with temperatures around 70° to 90° however, you may have to deal with some school-age children but you can find little hotspots, romantic getaways and adult only nightlife that is perfect for couples.
September and October are also great months to visit. Most of the kids are already in school and temperatures are typically between 65° and 89° on average. It’s really not until November that the temperatures cool off to lower than 50° at night. Most people have already done their summer vacations, kids are back in school and families are focusing on the holidays. This might be the perfect getaway for your romantic rendezvous.
