What’s happening around Panama City Beach this spring? Spring is starting very soon and even though were coming up on the end of March, there’s still plenty of activities and events happening in the next couple of months. Here’s what’s going on around Panama City Beach in March, April and May.
April 2 is Arts Alive in Bay. This is a silent auction and seated dinner fundraiser benefiting the Bay Education Foundations scholarship program and classroom grants for Bay District schools. In addition to the dinner there will be a reception and silent auction with entertainment by talented students from the bay area. The location will be at the Edgewater Beach resort and conference Center.
April 7 starting at 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM is the Healthy Starts World’s Greatest Come ‘n-Go-Baby Shower. This activity is for all Bay, Franklin and Gulf County resident who are either pregnant or had a baby in the last six months. There will be workshops and information on topics like safe sleeping, childbirth, car seats, breast-feeding and there will be over 30 community partners to let everyone know about their products or services. This is located at the first Methodist Church in Panama City Beach and there will be great door prizes.
April 7 to the 9th, 2016 is Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, Chris Young and dozens of others for the SpringJam 2016 brought you buy Pepsi. Surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, SpringJam tickets are on sale now for this three-day country music Festival April 7, eighth and ninth. Lodging and accommodations are available through preferred lodging tickets in the event is located at 600 S. Pier Park Dr. just seconds from the beach.
April 13 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM is the 12th Annual Career Expo at the Holley academic center at FSU PC. This 12th annual career Expo is a great opportunity to meet with potential employers looking for open positions and specialized employees. If you’re looking for a new career dress up, bring lots of copies of your resume and get ready to find the career of your future.
April 15-24 is the Kaleidoscope Theater Show featuring the Whipping Man at the Kaleidoscope theater. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7:30 PM with Sunday matinees beginning at 2:00 PM.
April 20 through the 24th is the Seabreeze Jazz Festival featuring top national smooth jazz artists. This is located at the Aaron Bessant Park featuring a full weekend of fun, great beaches, good times and fantastic music. Michael McDonald is an early announcer for headliner.This festival has been touted as the “best Jazz Festival” at the Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards. It tops national smooth jazz artists with a full weekend of fun starting on Wednesday, April 20 at 7:00 PM kicking off with Nick Collonne. In addition there will be certain CD releases, lots of events at the Aaron Bessant Park including Brian Culbertson, Jazz in Pink, and Kim Scott. The festival will and with the last concert happening on Sunday, April 24 at 7:30 PM.
April 23 at 6:00 PM is the Mask & Masterpiece Gala. This unique event is at the Edgewater Beach Resort and includes dinner, musical entertainment, photo opportunities and silent and live auctions. This will feature a New Orleans theme decor and all proceeds benefit the Bay and Gulf County for underfunded programs of covenant hospice.
April 27 through May 1 is the 18th Annual Thunder Beach Spring Rally. This is one of the biggest events year round and it’s happening throughout Panama City Beach the last weekend of April. Get ready to win prizes, compete in contests, check out the demonstration rides, the best of the thunder Beach custom bike show, fantastic events and some of the largest free concerts at the amphitheater at Aaron Bessant Park. Events will be happening all up and down Front Beach Road and a different parks and event venues throughout Panama City Beach. At Frank Brown Park you can enjoy live music throughout the week, biker games and stunt shows. At the Harley-Davidson of Panama City Beach you can enjoy the Miss Thunder Beach preliminary on Friday, April 29 as well as live music and sales and discounts going on all week. At the Boardwalk Beach Resort you can enjoy a paint and body contest and life music and of course at the amphitheater is free concerts, bike shows, the Miss Thunder Beach finale in the Harley-Davidson SLHX Street Glide giveaway on April 30. There are new venues for this event this year so be sure to check the website for all of the events, lodging specials and sponsors, locations and times.
On May 20 from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM is the 2016 Women’s Work – Life Symposium. Located at the FSU PC Holley Academic Center, registrations are already rolling in for the seventh annual women’s symposium. It will feature powerful speakers from across the country addressing topics beneficial to women’s health and balance. Earlybird reservations are available but after March 31 prices will increase by $30. Over 300 women will have the opportunity to hear on spying speakers in the morning, at lunch and afternoon sessions. Guest speaker Dale Smith Thomas will provide a truly inspiring message. There will be a breakout worship with lots of Takeaway tools for personal growth as well as tools for home life and professional lives. Women will be able to attend any two of the numerous workshops. In addition, attendees will enjoy a networking breakfast and lunch and sponsored by the Spinnaker Beach Club. There will be a social hour with cocktails and wine concluding the daylong event on the waterfront Terrace. In addition, an exhibitor showcase will feature breakout events throughout the day with opportunities for shopping at specialized booths.
Of course Spring Break is happening anytime from the end of February through about the second or third week of April. Spring break is one of our biggest times around here with lots of events, activities, discounts and thousands of kids, (Kids of course meeting college-age students). Look out because it’s one of the busiest times of the entire year.
